Miss Belfridge (first name unrevealed) is a fictional character from the BBC One comedy show, Are You Being Served?. She was played by Candy Davis from 1983-1985.
Role[]
Miss Belfridge was the personal secretary to Mr. Rumbold and worked in his office. She was blonde and voluptuous.
Miss Belfridge's relationship with Mr. Rumbold was apparently entirely professional. It was strongly implied that she had an ongoing affair with Captain Peacock. She appeared to be genuinely fond of Captain Peacock and was unbothered by him being married.
Mrs. Slocombe and Miss Brahms seemed slightly resentful of Miss Belfridge, believing she was unqualified and had only been hired for her appearance. They also disliked how she distracted the male staff. Mr. Spooner and Mr. Harman found Miss Belfridge attractive, but Mr. Humphries was generally uninterested.
Miss Belfridge was good-natured and pleasant. She was apparently unaware of the affect that her appearance had on men, and was comfortable appearing in revealing clothes.
It was stated that Miss Belfridge had obtained an O-level in English Literature, but her shorthand and spelling were said to be lacking.
